How to Enroll

  • First-time users: click Register as a New User and enter your first and last name, PIN (last 4 digits of SSN), birth date, and company identifier SHLPha2022

  • Select Start Enrollments and review your personal information and add dependents if needed

  • Select your benefit elections (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, etc.) and add coverage to dependents as needed

  • Assign beneficiaries for life insurance plans

  • Review your elections carefully and click to sign

Qualifying Life Events

Outside of New Hire and Open Enrollment, your only other opportunity to make changes to your benefits is if you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). These events are significant life events like getting married, having a child or a dependent losing other coverage. If you experience a QLE, you MUST submit your request for change in Employee Navigator within 30 days of the effective date of the event.

These benefits are updated on an annual basis during Open Enrollment.

Medical Plan Options

You have four Cigna medical plans to choose from: two High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) options that balance lower premiums with higher deductibles and two Copay plans that include set copays for most of your covered healthcare services.

Mental Health & Wellness

Talkspace, a private virtual therapy service, is available to all employees through SHL Medical's plan. You receive two 30-minute virtual therapy sessions per month at no cost. Plus, message your therapist as many time as you need. Access Talkspace through your phone, tablet, or computer any time.

SHL Medical offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their families at no cost. The EAP offer three face-to-face counseling sessions per member, per issue, per year. Additionally, you have unlimited work-life support through phone or live chat.

Dental and Vision Options

Dental and vision options are administered through Guardian. For dental, you have the choice between a Base plan and an Upgrade plan. Both offer comprehensive dental coverage with the Upgrade plan offering richer benefits. For vision, the comprehensive plan offers yearly coverage for lenses and frames or contact lenses.

Savings Accounts

SHL Medical offers a Health Savings Account (HSA) that pairs with our HDHPs, including an employer contribution. We also offer four Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): Healthcare FSA, Limited FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and Adoption Assistance FSA. Each account has different eligibility requirement and contribution limits set by the IRS.

Life and Disability Benefits

SHL Medical offers Company-Paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance to eligible employees in the amount of $50,000. During open enrollment, you may elect to purchase optional life insurance in varying amounts for yourself and your dependents.

SHL Medical offers Company-Paid short-term and long-term disability coverage. This coverage helps replace a portion of your income should you be unable to work due to a non-work related illness or injury.

Voluntary Benefits

During open enrollment, you may enroll in additional voluntary benefits like Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, or Cancer Insurance.
